KPMG's Financial Profitability Insights (FPI) enables users to ingest trial balance data provided by a client in multiple files and produce a set of predefined schedules in the form of a databook. Analysis of the databook can then be performed by the client engagement team and the resulting conclusions and findings used to support the first steps in a financial due diligence (FDD) effort. The analysis enables the team to ask important questions in key areas, e.g. why there might have been changes in accounts over time, or why other adjustments were made.
